Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP has added to the leadership of its commercial real estate law practice, naming Matthew J. Schiller vice-chair of the department.
The Woodbridge-based firm this week announced the new post for Schiller, effective Aug. 1. He joins Thomas J. Denitzio Jr. and Jack Fersko, the department’s co-chairs, in the leadership of the influential commercial real estate law practice.
“Matt is a seasoned young attorney and has been a valuable asset to our firm since coming on board as a partner in 2015,” Fersko said.
Schiller concentrates his practice in commercial real estate law, with work that encompasses an array of transactional, zoning, redevelopment, taxation and litigation matters throughout New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, according to a news release. He has focused recently on properties located in Opportunity Zones, assisting clients with the creation of Qualified Opportunity Funds and Qualified Opportunity Zone Businesses under the federal program.
“Serving as vice-chair is well suited to Matt’s growing prominence among the ‘next generation’ of leaders in the commercial real estate field,” Denitzio said.
Of his appointment as vice-chair, Schiller said: “I look forward to working side-by-
side with Jack, Tom and everyone on our real estate team as we continue to serve our clients and further expand Greenbaum’s dynamic real estate practice.”
